1. Strategies for Advocacy, Awareness and Sensitization
• Regular follow up and meeting with different ministries
and policy makers to get the approval on the disability
policy paper, amendment on the Disabled Welfare and Protection
Act.
• Regular follow up and meetings with the implementing
bodies of Government to get the effective implementation
of approved policy paper and amended Disabled Welfare and
Protection Act; this will inform the member organizations
through the regional bodies.
• Raise the voice of civil society, human right activists,
DPOs, I/NGOs in the favor of people with disability to influence
the Government for the approval and implementation of disability
policy paper and amended disabled welfare and protection
act.
• Meetings, interactive workshops and follow up with
Government and non Government stakeholders for the incorporation
on Standard Rules on Opportunity Equalization for the persons
with disability in the policies, programs and activities
made for PWDs.
• Orientation to the member organizations and regional
bodies about the Standard Rules on opportunity equalization.
• Meetings and interactive workshops with the international
non government organizations, UN development agencies and
human right organizations for the integration of disability
as a key issue in their development strategies.
• Orientation to the member organizations and regional
bodies about the cyclic relation between disability and
poverty, disability and human right etc.
• To hold workshops for all stakeholders to sensitize
them about causes of disability, preventive and curative
action, barrier free environment, social model of disability,
current national and international legislative measures
for the right and dignity of PWDs.
• Display Posters, Distribute pamphlets, cultural
program, painting competition, essay competition, sports,
audio visual aids, exhibitions, street play, traveling,
demonstrations, publications, media mobilization etc. will
be the key strategies to raise awareness about disability.
• Provide recognition and inspiration to the organizations
of PWDs which have done better in the field of disability.
2. Strategies for Capacity Building and Networking
• Increase the number of member organizations and
management capacity.
• Different types of training, technical support and
coordination for the selected member organizations to build
their capacity.
• Partnership with international development partners
to get support for the establishment of regional offices
• Local resource mobilization and long term partnership
development for the financial sustainability and physical
infrastructure for NFDN
• Five years organizational development plan and its
effective implementation to strengthen the 12 prioritized
areas of capacity.
• Get support of experienced volunteer for the implementation
OD plan and for strengthening NFDN networking.
• Collect and update the detail information about
the member organization of NFDN
• Utilization of organization's own Website, bulletin,
magazine, and national Media to distribute the information.
• Application of data base for storing, analyzing
and reporting information
• Long term partnership and local resources mobilization
for the sustainability of resource centre.
• To gain international cooperation for the building
of international network. |
