<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\nPress Release<\/h1>\n\n\n\n\nOn the historic occasion of the Gandaki Province Assembly passing the Bill on September 19, 2025 (2082 Bhadra 3) to ensure the rights of persons with disabilities, the National Federation of the Disabled Nepal (NFDN) Federal Office extends its heartfelt congratulations and sincere gratitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This remarkable achievement is the outcome of the relentless advocacy of the Gandaki Province Committee, its leadership, and the active engagement and commitment of all member organizations. Since the establishment of the provincial government, the leadership of NFDN Gandaki Province has continuously advocated for the formulation of this law. It is the result of these tireless efforts that this historic milestone has been achieved today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among all seven provinces, Gandaki has taken the lead by adopting a disability policy in 2089 B.S. and now enacting a provincial disability rights law in 2082 B.S., thereby becoming the first province to truly implement federalism in this regard. As the provincial government has already allocated a budget for its implementation within the current fiscal year, we firmly believe that the law will soon be enforced. Alongside this, the necessary regulations, procedures, and guidelines will also be formulated promptly, further strengthening the foundation for its effective implementation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This important step will open the path for persons with disabilities in Gandaki Province to live dignified and respected lives. We expect that other provinces will also follow this commendable example. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The National Federation of the Disabled Nepal respectfully acknowledges the vital role played by its partners and member organizations in Gandaki Province in bringing this law into existence. This achievement is also the result of the able leadership of Mr. Khomraj Sharma, who served two terms as Provincial President of NFDN Gandaki Province, and the strong cooperation, solidarity, and support extended by the provincial committee\u2019s office bearers and members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We also extend sincere thanks to the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, the Minister for Social Development, Youth and Sports, members of province assembly, province assembly member and disability right activist Hon Suneeta Thapa, the concerned officials, the media, and all other stakeholders who contributed to making this historic step a reality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
