DPOD's Monitoring team visits NFDN

A team from Disabled People's Organization (DPOD) – Denmark visited NFDN in the course of their regular monitoring of the project supported to NFDN. The visit was started from 27th January and ended on 2nd February 2016. The team members from Denmark were Mr. Kristian, International Department Head and Ms. Ina, Program Coordinator. Ms. Renu Lohani, DPOD's representative for Nepal also joined the team in Nepal.

The team spent one week in Nepal for their course and during the visit they had meeting with the key posts of newly elected NFDN's board and some members and shared each other about the latest development in both organizations. They met the project team and discussed about the current status of the project, its achievements, remaining activities and activities to be carried out in the no-cost-extension period.

The team participated in a day long learning/sharing meetings with the local staff of 10 project implementing districts and took opportunity to interact with them in the various subjects of the project. The sharing meeting was organized on 31st January. The team also visited one project supported district, Nuwakot on 29th and 30th January 2016 where they met to the district board and one local self-help group of persons with disabilities in Taruka VDC. During Nuwakot visit the team had also an opportunity to observe the damages and losses caused by the April's massive earthquake.

Before leaving Kathmandu, on February 1 & 2, the team had an intensive meeting with the project team and admin manager where they discussed more about the status of sustainability of the project, challenges in the district, post-disaster situation and its impact in the project and the activities to be implemented in 2016 and budget as well
